Insurance M&A Heats Up in Europe
Insurers are making moves to expand operations in the small, but fast-growing markets of Central and Eastern Europe.For one, Italian insurance company Assicurazioni Generali SpA is slated to meet tomorrow to hash out a possible purchase or joint venture with Czech insurer Ceska Pojistovna AS.Meanwhile, European insurers including Allianz SE, Aviva Plc, and Axa SA have built up operations in Central and Eastern Europe.
