Is it better to get the SR22 form from a different insurance company or from the same insurance company we have now?

If your current insurance company will file the SR-22 form for you, after making certain you have at least the types of insurance and limits that your state is requiring of you, then it would normally be easier for you to keep the same insurance company as you presently have.

If instead your current insurance provider is not able to file the SR-22 for you then you will need to find a different auto insurance carrier that does deal with "high risk" drivers and will send in the SR22 form to the proper state agency on your behalf.

Your present insurance policy will not be able to be kept if your current insurance carrier does not file SR-22 forms for policyholders. If they do not work with SR22s then you will need to obtain insurance with a company that does SR22 filing and then cancel your current insurance once your new auto insurance is in place.
