How long does a speeding ticket stay on your record in Indiana?

According to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) points associated with a traffic offense, such as speeding, may be disregarded after 2 years but the violations remain on the record since IN state continues to track your violations.

Most carriers only review the previousВ 3В or 5 year period.

If in Indiana they find you have committed repeat traffic offenses over a 10 year period, IN will classify you as a habitual traffic violator.

My license was suspended in Illinois for speeding. I recently received a no operators license ticket in Nebraska. What exactly does that mean?

If Illinois is your licensing state and they have suspended your driver's license than it is suspended in all states and thus you should not be driving since you do not have a valid license. A state that is not your licensing state can only take away your driving privileges in that state but when the state that issued your license is the one to suspend your driver's license than your license is not valid in that or any other state.

Does Florida have a law that provides a presumption of negligence for a rear end accident? What is it?

Florida does have a presumption of negligence for a rear-end accident however it is not a state statute that we are aware of but instead Florida case laws that has set this precedent. In all the cases we have read with a presumption of negligence for the driver that rear-ended the vehicle a specific law is not mentioned just that it is a well established principle that in a rear-end type collision Florida law presumes the negligence of the rear driver.

Can a body shop pay or discount my $500.00 deductible?

Any agreement between a private party and the body shop is between them.

Normally a body shop that works with an insurance company will not pay off or discount your deductible amount. This would seem unethical in that it would appear they would just over-inflate the estimate to cover your deductible amount so that the insurance company ends up paying the entire amount for repairs, which is not right since you agreed to a deductible amount in your policy.

If my daughter is 16 years old and she has received her NC driver license, can she drive the family car without supervision? Secondly, does she have a provisional license or just a standard driving license like all licensed NC drivers?

The North Carolina Driver's Manual, available through the NCDOT Division of Motor Vehicles, states that drivers under age 18 are provisional licensees. Because these drivers have a much higher crash rate, special laws apply to them. So as a driver under the age of 18 your daughter:

Life Insurance for Santa Claus

As I was stuck in traffic on a Los Angeles freeway yesterday, I saw a deflated blow-up Santa lying on the side of the road and, being the insurance person I am, I started thinking about what would happen if the real Santa Claus died? Would any toys get delivered on Christmas Eve? Would millions of cookies and glasses of milk go untouched? Would the collective wail of hundreds of millions of children on Christmas morning ruin any possibility of a peaceful day?
